HQBUILD S.p.A. is proud to have supported the publication of Fragmente të Arkitekturës Bashkëkohore Shqiptare – Fragments of Contemporary Albanian Architecture, the third volume in the series curated by architects Armand Vokshi, Blerta Vula Rizvanolli and Besian Mehmeti — a chapter announced by the cover itself, where a large “3” made up of a pattern of circles recalls architectural modules and façades. The volume offers the reader an in-depth reflection on the evolution of contemporary Albanian architecture, tracing its path of growth, its cultural cross-currents, its design challenges and its constant dialogue between memory and innovation.

The book opens with a foreword by HQBUILD’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Artur Hamitaj, which sums up the vision that led our company to stand alongside this publishing project.

“Architecture is far more than the construction of buildings,” writes Chairman Hamitaj. “It is the language through which a society tells its own story, interprets the present and imagines its future. Every project, every urban space, every intervention on the land is a piece of a collective heritage that helps define a community’s identity and the quality of people’s lives.”

For HQBUILD, a company committed to sustainable construction, energy efficiency and seismic safety, supporting a work of this kind means reaffirming a deeply held conviction: building does not simply mean creating works — it means contributing to a culture of quality, sustainability and responsibility towards the land.

Founded in Italy to promote a model of development capable of combining technological innovation, environmental protection and the safety of people, HQBUILD today extends this mission to Albania as well — a country that in recent years has embarked on a significant journey of urban, economic and infrastructural transformation, in which architectural design plays an increasingly strategic role.

In his foreword, Chairman Hamitaj also underlines how the dialogue between Italy and Albania is rooted in a long history of cultural, economic and professional relations, strengthened today by new opportunities for collaboration: architecture is among the most fertile grounds for this exchange, because it brings together technical expertise, cultural sensibility and the ability to interpret people’s needs.

“Supporting a book,” the Chairman concludes, “means supporting an idea of the future: a future in which the culture of building accompanies the growth of our territories, always keeping people, the environment and the quality of life at its heart.”

It is our hope that these pages may serve as an inspiration to all those who, in their different roles, are taking part in building the urban future of Albania and the Mediterranean.
